How does Altro handle state regulations?

How the platform manages licensing, prescribing rules, and product availability that differ from state to state.

Altro operates in all 50 states and DC. Because every state regulates telehealth and prescribing differently, the platform is designed to account for these differences based on where your client is located. Availability of specific services and products varies by state and can change as laws change.

  • Clients are matched with independent clinicians who are licensed to practice in the client's state. The clinicians are independent providers responsible for their own licensing and clinical decisions.

  • Some states require a phone or video visit with the clinician before certain prescriptions can be issued.

  • Some states place additional restrictions on how certain medications may be prescribed or shipped, so specific therapies may not be available in every state.

  • Certain services, including some lab testing, may be priced differently in some states due to state-specific regulations.

Because these rules change over time, your partner portal is the source of truth for what's currently available. Click any product under Offerings to see where it's available today.
